I get a lot of e-mail about this one from people asking me if it's worth the extra $300 to upgrade from the Bowflex Xtreme SE Home Gym to the Bowflex Xtreme 2 SE Home Gym. Well, that's a real tough one. There are a few ways we can figure this one out. First, if you're rich and $300 is little more than an hour's pay I say yeah definitely go for it. It's always better to have things you don't need then to need them and not have them. The next two ways to figure this out take a little bit more explaining. To help you make the best choice possible I will cover the differences between these two home gyms.

Just a quick overview, the Bowflex Xtreme 2 SE Home Gym enables users to perform over 70 exercises to work out shoulders, chest, arms, back, and legs. This is a total workout gym, which is an industry buzzword that means someone can use this particular machine to work out every major muscle group. Be careful, there is no real industry standard definition for what a total workout actually means and some treadmill manufacturers use the term to sell cardio equipment. If I were King of the world, that term would only apply to strength training equipment. Anyway, like every other Bowflex home gym the Bowflex Xtreme 2 SE Home Gym utilizes power Rod resistance rather than stacks of weights to provide resistance. It has its advantages over weight stack including being much lighter and more portable than a traditional home gym. As always, this home gym can be upgraded to 310 pounds or even 410 pounds of resistance.

As for the differences, while this is essentially the same home gym as the Bowflex Xtreme SE Home Gym except it has more pulley positions. If I were personally deciding between these two home gyms and I were on a budget I probably wouldn't be willing to shell out an extra $300 to get the extra pulley attachments. Most of the extra exercises benefit your back and chest but there already plenty of exercises on the less expensive version of this home gym to benefit from. I would only buy this home gym if I had plenty of extra cash in the bank, which I don't.

Overall, this is a great home gym. If you buy it you go to be able to build whatever kind of body you want to build provided you put in the work to do it. The only problem is it's about $300 more than most people really need to spend and you get a whole lot more for the extra cash. If you're considering this home gym I suggest you take a look at the Bowflex Xtreme SE Home Gym before you pull the trigger and by the Bowflex Xtreme 2 SE Home Gym.

Click Now to Buy the Bowflex Xtreme 2 SE Home Gym

Bowflex Xtreme SE Home Gym Review

Hello Readers,

Click Now to buy the Bowflex Xtreme SE Home Gym Review

I have another Bowflex home gym review for you tonight. In the last couple weeks we've been covering most of the high-end equipment. And we're finally ready to start covering some of the midrange equipment, from the $900-$1500 range. The first home gym on my list is the Bowflex Xtreme SE Home Gym.

As everyone who knows me knows, I'm a huge fan of Bowflex. There are not too many home gyms out there I would rather have, unless you include the really expensive $10,000.24 hour fitness specialized equipment. Other than that, Bowflex really is the top player when it comes to home gyms. The Bowflex Xtreme SE Home Gym in particular is designed for someone with a moderate budget. This home gym enables users to perform as many as 60 different exercises and work out every major muscle group from the shoulders to the calves and everything in between.

Some of the highlights of this Bowflex Xtreme SE Home Gym are the 210 pounds of power Rod resistance. Power rods have the advantage of weighing far less than free weights or weight plates that normally come with a home gym. One thing Bowflex has been increasingly including in their home gyms is an abdominal crunch shoulder harness that attaches to the home gym and allows people to develop abdominal muscles. I suppose this is making quite a stir and is an effective response to the strong consumer demand for products that help the build stomach muscles. If you are on a personal quest to sculpt your abs, this is a great home gym to have at home!

I think I really have said it all. You can work out your arms, your chest, your stomach, and your legs. The motion is smooth and fluid. If you don't believe me you can always take the Bowflex six weeks challenge to find out for yourself. If you like this home gym for any reason whatsoever just call Bowflex up in a friendly customer service agent will provide you with instructions for returning this home gym. Bowflex really does put its money where its mouth is!

Click now to Read Bowflex Xtreme SE Home Gym User Reviews

Bowflex Ultimate 2 Home Gym Review

Bowflex Ultimate 2 Home Gym Review
Home Gym Rating: 4 stars out of 5 for delivering massive amounts of features

Click Now To Buy The Bowflex Ultimate 2 Home Gym

Hello Readers,

I'm happy to introduce another excellent Bowflex Home Gym, the Bowflex Ultimate 2 Home Gym. miss home gym comes with plenty of resistance for just about any user. I wish things were simpler. Can I deduct this, should I count that? Who needs it? I wish I could just say “I made this much” and the IRS says “this is how much we’re screwin’ ya”. Anyway, one of the things I like about Bowflex’s Home Gym product line is the simplified warranty. Home Gym manufacturers often count guide rods separate from bushings, and weight stacks different from frame. Bowflex offers a simple warranty to follow, 5 year warranty against all workmanship and defects, and lifetime warranty on all resistance rods. It’s easy enough to follow even for someone as dull as me!

So, what does the Bowflex Blaze Home Gym have to offer weight trainers? Well, the Bowflex Blaze includes a lat tower to build up your back and shoulder muscles, a pulley station for squats and a number of other exercises like rows and pull downs. Oh yeah, and the seat slides when performing rows. If you’ve ever done rows on a home gym before you know how useful a sliding seat can be. Side note, rowing definitely helps improve cardiovascular endurance, just in case you were wondering. Users can build up their lungs and explode their arms at the same time!

The Bowflex Blaze Home Gym enables users to perform over 60 different exercises targeting the arms, abdominals, chest, shoulders, and legs. The Bowflex Blaze will help just about anyone looking to build muscle strength or tone reach their goals. If you’re worried about the resistance bands not providing enough resistance, the Bowflex Blaze comes with 210 lbs. of resistance standard, and can be increased to 310 and 410 lbs. worth of resistance. That leaves plenty of room for just about anyone to improve.

This is one of my favorite Bowflex Home Gyms and I strongly recommend it for anyone except for professional weightlifters. The Bowflex Blaze Home Gym is a strong buy!

Links

Xceed Home Gym Review

Oh man, yesterday was very busy! I didn’t have a chance to complete my workout. As a matter of fact, all I did was max out. I’m up to 175 lbs. I know it doesn’t sound like much for a 250 lb. 6’1” 22 year old male, but it’s a lot to me. I’ll get up there soon enough; I just have to keep working at it. Besides, I maxed out at 145 in high school and this is the first time I have seriously committed to a strength training routine. Enough about my personal life, it’s time to get to my review of the Bowflex Xceed Home Gym.

The Bowflex Xceed is the new kid on the block. It’s basically the Bowflex Xtreme XTLU Home Gym on steroids. The Bowflex Xceed has all the features and benefits of the Xtreme but goes quite a bit further. First, the Bowflex Xceed comes with 310 lbs. of resistance. Earlier in this post I mentioned I bench about 175 lbs., if I were to buy the Bowflex Xceed Home Gym I would have 135 lbs. left to work with. What’s more, the Bowflex Xtreme can be upgraded to as much as 410 lbs.

The area required to operate the Bowflex Xceed is pretty small; a 7’ x 6’ rectangle worth of open space in your home is all that is need to make use of all the stations on the Bowflex Xceed Home Gym. That makes this home gym an excellent choice for people in apartments and smaller homes, or for people who simply don’t want to dedicate a large area of their home to fitness equipment.

The Bowflex Xceed offers users several workout options including a pulley system, lat tower, and squat station. You can perform over 65 different exercises and target every major muscle center of the body. You customize your workout by adjusting resistance in 5 lb. increments and start off with light workouts to begin training your body and move up to 410 lbs. of resistance for intense workouts.

Before I conclude this review, I want to write one quick note about Bowflex Power Rods. I know it might seem that metal rods might bend, bow, and become less resistant as time wears on, but Bowflex has put many hours worth of research and design into developing resistance rods that deliver consistent resistance. Bowflex is so confident in their resistance rods that they offer a Never Ending warranty. You can have them replaced at Bowflex’s expense if they lose their ability to deliver resistance!

The features of the Bowflex Xceed Home Gym combined with an impressive 7 year warranty that covers everything from frame construction to the pulley system gives me the confidence to recommend this home gym to people just starting their first strength training routine or the serious strength trainer.

Bowflex Motivator 2 Home Gym Review

Konichiwa!

Bowflex Motivator 2 Home Gym Review
Bowflex Motivator 2 Home Gym Rating: 4 stars out of 5 for being a decent price and decent workmanship.
Price: $599
Buy The Bowflex Motivator 2 Home Gym

When I first started researching Bowflex Home Gyms I was startled at how popular they were. I never thought people would prefer band resistance over traditional weight stack home gyms. Apparently I was wrong. Bowflex is one of the largest and most respected names in the fitness equipment industry, their commercials run day and night and people really, really like their equipment. (Just don’t bring up the Bowflex TreadClimber, it’s a bit of a touchy subject.) Why do people prefer the relatively new band resistance style home gym over conventional weight stack home gyms? More importantly, is the Bowflex Motivator 2 Home Gym worth buying? Read on and find out.

One of the first things that jumped at me was a folding design. I can’t imagine folding up a weight stack or leg press on a regular home gym, but the resistance band design affords the Bowflex Motivator 2 more flexibility on so many levels. This makes the Bowflex Motivator extremely ideal for people with limited space such as apartment dwellers or the high school football player who would make varsity if he could just work out at home during the summer. The Motivator 2 Home Gym folds up into a small 28” x 34” x 6.5”H space. Because the Bowflex Motivator 2 Home Gym doesn’t use iron weight resistance, the gym is significantly lighter than most other home gyms. Users can fold up and move their home gym out of the way when their routine is complete.

I had a hard time believing this myself, but the Motivator II has 210 lbs. of built in resistance. That should be plenty weight for just about anyone except for professional body builders. Another cool advantage the Motivator II has over regular home gyms is their resistance won’t fade with time. Iron weight stack plates can chip and rust over time reducing the total amount of weight on your machine. The Motivator has no weight stacks to rust, resistance stays consistent!

In addition to your typically standard workout stations including lat pull down and leg curl and extension, the Bowflex Motivator II Home Gym includes a sliding seat for aerobic rowing with resistance. That’s not always found in every home gym, and it’s nice to see Bowflex making an extra effort to add value to their products.

There is one thing I would like to see changed or improved. Other Bowflex Home Gyms have expandability, meaning users can purchase extra weight resistance rods for more challenging workouts. If you use the Bowflex Series II regularly and consistently, there’s a slight chance your workouts might become a little easy. But you’ll probably be ready to invest in a big gym membership or much larger home gym by them.

Final Analysis
The Bowflex Series II does not have any serious mechanical defects and does it’s job well. I would, like a lot of other home gyms and treadmills, like to see this unit about $50 bucks cheaper, the $599 price tag is okay, and that’s why I give the Bowflex Series II Home Gym an okay 4 stars out of 5.

Bowflex Series 7 Treadmill Review

Konichiwa!
Bowflex Series 7 Treadmill Review
Bowflex Series 7 Rating: 5 stars out of 5 for an unbeatable price and an incredible design
Price: $1389
Buy The Bowflex Series 7 Treadmill

I want to start out my Series 7 Review by addressing a negative review from the so called “Treadmill Sensei”. He claims that the Bowflex Series 7 Treadmill has a poor warranty and complains about it. I would like to ask why he hasn’t rated the Horizon T71 Treadmill poorly for having a bad warranty when the Bowflex Series 7 Treadmill offers longer motor and parts coverage? I think he’s just putting up stuff he thinks will sell. Oh wait, as it turns out he is, check Fitness Equipment Expert for the expose.

Sorry for digressing, liars get me fuming pretty quick, especially when they lie about excellent equipment like the Bowflex Series 7 Treadmill. There’s a lot of features I like about this treadmill. First one I want to talk about is the Strike Zone shock absorption system. Running on dirt and pavement can deal a lot of stress to your body, well designed and built treadmills alleviate a lot of this stress with shock absorption systems that cushion your steps. The Bowflex Series 7 Treadmill has one of the best shock absorption systems for a residential grade treadmill. People who exercise on the Series 7 say it’s like “walking on air”.

Let’s face it, if you’re buying a treadmill you’re probably fat. Most Americans are. Bowflex knows this and made an exceptionally large running area and deck for users to enjoy freedom of movement during running and walking workouts. Bowflex’s running area is 20” x 60”, most treadmills are 18” x 52”, that’s a huge difference! I personally hate some of the smaller treadmills out there, I just feel so cramped and crowded when I use them.

Programs are okay, I’m satisfied with the wide range of 15 programs, would have like to see 20, but you can’t have EVERYTHING. But I really, really like the built in BMI or Body Mass Index test. Users can test how much fat they have on their bodies. It’s very useful for tracking your results.

Convenience features include a built in fan and computer controlled incline controls. I definitely prefer a treadmill with electronically controlled incline, I hate bending down to adjust a knob or press a release button and then having to lift the deck to get things just right. Far more convenient and you can adjust your workout difficulty without stopping.

As much as I love the Bowflex Series 7, I still have a couple gripes. This one I’m not exactly sure can be attributed to the Bowflex itself, perhaps it’s just a coincidence, but some users have reported static shock while using it. Maybe the treadmill belt grip causes some extra friction. Not that big of a deal, even if it is the treadmill design causing the shock. Scrolling messages are also a little difficult to read if you have poor vision. I do, but that’s what glasses are for.

Final Analysis
The Bowflex Series 7 Treadmill gets my highest rating of 5 stars out of 5 stars for several reasons. First, it’s an extremely reliable and comfortable treadmill that can withstand years of use while maintaining structural integrity, second it has an impressive array of features including a built in fan and an excellent console display. The Bowflex Series 7 Treadmill does not display any serious drawbacks or defects. I’m confident in recommending the Bowflex Series 7 as a strong buy to you, my loyal readers in confidence.

Bowflex Sport Home Gym Review

The Bowflex Sport Home Gym is an excellent starter home gym. The Bowflex Sport is backed by a 5 year guarantee and all Power Rods are guaranteed for life!

What People Are Saying
People who bought the Bowflex Sport Home Gym are extremely pleased with the wide variety of workouts. Some users report the switch from weight stack to power rods is a little strange, but this passes quickly. The only real thing users are consistently pointing out is assembly. The Bowflex Sport takes most users 2 hours to assemble and has taken the less mechanically inclined users as many as 4 hours to put together.

Total Body Workout
Users can target all major and minor muscle groups.

Over 60 Different Exercises
Workouts become dull and boring without diversity. The Amazon reviews have been particularly encouraging and mostly in line with that I’ve come to expect from Bowflex. However, I stumbled across a site called The Treadmill Sensei who reviewed the Bowflex Series 7 Treadmill very poorly, 2.5 Golden Buddhas out of 5 bad in fact. So, I’ve decided to write a response to the Treadmill Sensei to counter some of off base and totally inaccurate reviews, as well as a couple contradictions.

First he talks about how they break down after a year. Well, my Bowflex Series 7 has lasted me more than a year and I’ve used. I mean, I’ve really used it! When I started working out on mine I weighed about 27 lbs. more than the recommended user weight and have used this treadmill religiously 3-5 times a week for at least an hour a week. At the moment I’m using it about 3 times a week, but I’ll run for an hour straight! Obviously we can’t be talking about the same treadmill. So far the only break down on my Series 7 was a broken shroud I cracked myself when I moved it! What’s more, he claims poor customer service! BAHHHHHUMBUGGGG! Bowflex was more than happy to replace my shroud, they were very nice on the phone, and I got my shroud within a few business days! URGHHHH!

Hey got the part about being heavy right, but what do you expect for a treadmill that’s 20” x 60”! A large person like me NEEDS that kind of space; at least I did when I first started out!

Next he tries to badmouth the horsepower. Okay, they may have fudged with the 3.0 HP rating a bit, but it still has 2 whole horsepower. That’s plenty for a treadmill, and it doesn’t work extra hard and get loud when I start to run on it. Well, at least it’s not screeching like a bat out of hell as the Treadmill Sensei would have you believe.

I also take issue with the Treadmill Sensei downgrading the Bowflex Series 7 for a 2 year parts and 1 year labor warranty when he praises Horizon Fitness for their 1 year parts and labor warranty on the T74! What, is he off his rocker? This guy must obviously be senile because he contradicts himself all over his treadmill blog.

Turns out, the Treadmill Sensei doesn’t know what he’s talking about and all his talk of owning a fitness repair shop are a lie! The whole story can be found at Fitness Equipment Expert. An engineer from Spirit exposes the Treadmill Sensei for what he is, a failed cartoonist fraud!

So, bottom line, I love the Bowflex Series 7 Treadmill. It helped me lose weight and the Treadmill Sensei has no idea what he’s talking about because he’s probably never even seen a treadmill!

Bowflex Series 5 Treadmill Review

Just like every other industry, the treadmill makers follow trends. One trend in the treadmill industry is to manufacture a low end, mid range, and high end treadmill. Amazingly enough, they all follow a similar pricing structure: $600-$999 for low end, $1000-$1299, and $1300-$1600 for high end treadmills. It seems to me Bowflex just wanted to follow the pack and build a set of three treadmills for the Bowflex Series line of treadmills because the Series 5 hardly distinguishes itself from the Series 7.

The Bowflex Series 7 retails for less than a hundred bucks more than the Series 5. I don’t recommend buying the Bowflex Series 5 unless you absolutely can’t afford the extra $70 or so and you need a treadmill immediately. There’s a huge performance gap between the Series 5 and 7 I feel it would be irresponsible of me to even recommend you consider purchasing the Series 5. Rather than giving a full review of the Bowflex Series 5 Treadmill I think it will be far more useful to my audience to go into detail about the differences between the Series 5 and Series 7 and exaplain why I feel the Bowflex Series 7 is worth your extra hard earned dollars.

Main Difference #1: Horsepower
The Series 7 has significantly more horsepower than the Series 5. The more horsepower a treadmill has, the longer it’s going to last. Greater horsepower means your treadmill is going to work far less hard, resulting in fewer service issues an a longer lasting treadmill.

Main Difference #2: Speed
I know it’s not a big deal to people intending to walk on their treadmill, but if you plan on running you’re going to get a 12 MPH top speed with the Series 7 and an 11 MPH top speed with the Series 5. If you’re seriously training for a marathon or sprinting competition that single MPH is definitely going to show up on the track.

Main Difference #3: Better Display Screen
It might seem like a small difference, and once again if you plan on using the Bowflex Treadmill for walking you’re right. It’s small, not worth mentioning. But if you plan on running with your Bowflex Treadmill Series 7 screen is going to be much easier to read, enabling you to keep track of things like heart rate, distance, and speed better.

Final Analysis
I’m not calling the Bowflex Series 5 a bad treadmill in this review, far from it. As a matter of fact, I think it’s one of the best treadmills on the market right now. What I am saying is it’s not the most cost effective. The best rated treadmill in the Bowflex Treadmill product line is less than a hundred bucks more and you get a whole lot more for your money! This may change as Bowflex tweaks MSRP, dealer cost, etc. But at the time I wrote this article the Bowflex Series 7 stood head and shoulders above the Bowflex Series 5.

Bowflex Series 3 Treadmill Review

The Bowflex Series 3 Treadmill is designed to be a workhorse. One of the most popular reasons for buying the Bowflex Series 3 Treadmill is a heavy, solid frame. Lighter treadmills tend to shake and rattle as you put a little more pressure on them, ultimately causing mechanical failure and breakdown. If you’re a heavy set person and don’t have the cash to spend on one of the higher end treadmills from Star Trac or Landice Bowflex Treadmills are an excellent alternative.

<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5138731989041363090" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="Sturdy, strong, reliable, dependable.
